PSantos Construction started eight years ago in Milford with a simple goal: build stone masonry and hardscaping that survives New England winters without settling, shifting, or bowing. Over the last eight years, we have built a local reputation for delivering heavy-duty retaining walls, paver patios, and outdoor living spaces that hold up season after season.

How much does a retaining wall cost per square foot in MetroWest MA?
Retaining walls generally cost between $35 and $85 per face square foot, depending on height, excavation access, soil type, and chosen material (concrete block vs. natural stone). Taller walls requiring structural geogrid soil reinforcement involve more excavation and labor. We provide exact written quotes after checking your site.
Why do stone walls start leaning after a couple of years?
Trapped water causes wall failure. When rainwater pools behind a wall during freezing weather, expanding ice pushes the structure forward. We prevent this by backfilling directly behind the wall with clean crushed stone, laying filter fabric, and installing continuous perforated drainage pipe at the base.
Do I need a town permit for a retaining wall in Milford or Hopkinton?
In most Massachusetts towns, retaining walls supporting over 4 feet of soil require a building permit and structural plan. We evaluate wall height during our site walk and ensure everything meets local building codes.
How deep do you excavate for a paver patio?
We excavate 8 to 12 inches below grade depending on subsoil composition (clay requires deeper excavation than sand). We lay heavy geotextile fabric, compact dense stone in layers, and add a 1-inch bedding layer before laying pavers.
Are you fully insured while working on my property?
Yes. PSantos Construction carries full general liability and workers' compensation coverage. We provide insurance certificates directly to you or your property manager before work starts.
